This means that, using Im.Ex, you won't have to create the same content twice.
A little example:

Every website has a contact form. This means that if you create a new website you must create a contact form for your website.

To create a pretty contact form with TYPOlight you need to:

    * create the form with its fields (usually name, email and message)
    * create a "Thank you for contact us" page with at least one article and one content element, and "connect" the page to the form created in the step above.

If you create another website you have to repeat the steps above. Well, I'm sure you get the point :).

Im.Ex. lets you create a contact form, store it on an im.ex. repository and, then import it from another installation.

Once imported the im.ex. package's contents will be inserted as normal TYPOlight contents so it can be customized (if necessary)

The cool thing is that if you don't like the package you have imported you can remove it with just a click.

The above is just a little example of what can be done with Im.Ex.

Other ideas:

    * distribute templates
    * website skeleton (see the imex-package "Blog")
    * distribute usage examples of some extension
    * migrate website
    * selective backups
    * distribute complex combinations of "Allow excluded fields" ;)
